The AGM will start at 5.30pm and we’ll discuss the 2009/10 season and look ahead for the 2010/11 season. We’ll discuss most of the questions and feedback you sent us. If you have any additional comments or ideas to help develop the club, please send an email to Thomas ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) who will mention it on your behalf. Note that some members of the executive committee will not continue next season and we will need more volunteers to keep the club  running.

After the AGM, it will be time for some fun with brief team presentations and awards. Please speak to your coach if you have some awards suggestions (funny or not) for your team. Later in the evening, we can move the party to a nearby club to sweat out the buffet.

See you all on the 5th of June

Nico
On behalf of the executive committee

Next and last Open Session on Sunday 23rd May

There will only be one last open session this season, on Sunday 23rd May from 4 to 6pm. This is due to the banks holiday weekends in May (1st and last) and the All Nations Tournament (2nd and 3rd). Please update your calendars.

At last, a victory for Men Lionhearts (3-2)

On Sunday 25th April, Lionhearts Men Premiership played against Malory Eagles (4th in the league) at Bethnal Green.

As usual, the guys started very slowly. A lot of silly mistakes, missed serves and mis-communication; the first set was over in 16 minutes (10-25). In the 2nd set, Thomas gave a few setter tips to Allan, who also calmed down and his accuracy improved dramatically. Thomas (as libero) brought a good and steady defence which opened opportunities to the middle players Jan, Seb and Didzis. A few excellent consecutive rounds gave a comfortable lead to the Lions (18-14) which then stayed on top on the game until the end of the set (25-23). With their pride and confidence back, the Lions were fighting for every ball. But Malory Eagles, still strong, stepped up and gave the Lions a hard time (18-25). With only 1 set to victory, Malory Eagles settled with a 1-2 points lead for most of the 4th set. Until the brave Lionhearts Men gave all they had. Fantastic pick-ups from Thomas, sharp sets from Allan, strong hits from the outsides (Alex, Juan-Carlos and Nico) and a few craters from our new recruit, Didzis "The Flying Man". The whole team played hard and finally won a well deserved 4th set (25-21). At this stage, Malory Eagles moral was at his lowest and their focus gone. Too many mistakes in defence and attack for M.E, the Lions didn't miss that chance to convert this opportunity into points with 8-1 at change of court and a clear victory with 15-8.

Lionhearts Men Premiership finally won their 2nd game this season, 3-2 against Malory Eagles. The team settles now in 5th position. It means that the team is very likely to stay in Premiership next season. But to confirm it, they will need to win their last 2 games against Wapping (Monday 10th May) and Inter (Thursday 13th May).
